IBFAN Africa's Platforms

The right of infants everywhere to optimal health
The right of families and, in particular, women and children to enough nutritionous food
The right of women to make informed choices about infant feeding
The right of women to be empowered to breastfeed and to practice appropriate infant feeding
The right of all people to health services which meet basic human needs
The right of health workers and consumers to health care systems which are free from commercial pressures
The right of people to organise in international solidarity in order to secure changes which protect and promote people's basic health
To initiate and support research

IBFAN Africa's Policy on Funding

IBFAN Africa does not accept funds or gifts from manufacturers or distributors of breast-milk substitutes, commercial baby foods, or from manufacturers of products related to infant feeding. Membership of IBFAN Africa automatically prohibits acceptance of the aforementioned funds or gifts. The IBFAN Africa Coordinating Office appreciates the complexity of this issue and is prepared to consult with members as the need arises.
